Ugandan Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2020
In 2020, our founder, Martha Wandera, received the Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Award.

KIMCO Coffee is proud of being woman-led. Our founder, owner and leader is an educator with strong leadership capabilities, possessing expertise in the coffee value chain, working with youthful staff who are coffee lovers with incomparable commitment, and excellent community good will and support - all qualities that are key to the success of our enterprise.
Every aspect of KIMCO's work is hinged on honesty, consistency and dependability as our main guiding principles, helping to create and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders at the local, national and international level.
And Martha is very clear about what she wants to achieve through Kimco's success:
"I am passionate about producing high quality robusta coffee, promoting the gainful participation of women in the coffee value chain and using part of our coffee sales to prevent the exploitation of children in coffee growing communities.

I love the fact that our coffee is coffee for a cause and that part of the profits from our coffee sales go to eradicating child labour in coffee growing communities of Lwengo district. Our work directly helps women coffee farmers transition their children from working in coffee farms and factories to attending school - so they can have a bright future."
But we need more partners in our fight against child labour in the coffee industry and to support our journey of empowering women throughout the coffee value chain!
We are a woman-led, community-oriented enterprise; kind, competent, youthful and sophisticated
Our 3-year strategy is to:
- Build, maintain and grow European coffee sales
- Open our own café to promote the local consumption of coffee
- Find partners to work with on our "Stop Child Labour" project
- Support children to stay in school using profits from coffee sales
